Born and raised in Los Angeles, I graduated from Otis College of Art and Design with a BFA, the only woman to graduate from the inaugural Toy Design program in 2000. After getting a taste of working at Mattel, I spent several years working for mid sized consumer product companies working on popular brands like Hello Kitty and Harajuku Lovers. Those experiences gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of product development into other categories beyond toys such as: gifts, jewelry, fashion accessories, stationery, even candy.
Currently, I am working as a freelance designer and art director with clients from the toy, gift, jewelry, fashion, cosmetic and pet industries. Besides product design and development, I also handle a variety of branding, graphic design, packaging, and character design projects.
In 2012, I launched a women’s intimates brand called SugarPants with my business partner Jennifer Coyle, a successful animation director. SugarPants features fun, printed designs that have impeccable stretch and are totally comfortable. We strive to create original designs for our brand that inspire and empower. We manufacture SugarPants entirely in Los Angeles, California, because we love supporting our local business community.
